There was once a man going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when robbers attacked him, stripped him, beat him, leaving him half dead. It so happened that a priest came that way. When he saw the man he walked by on the other side. In the same way a Levite also came there, and then walked by on the other side. But a despised Samaritan came across the man. And his heart was filled with pity.
