Simon, Simon, listen. Satan has desired to test all of you, to separate you from your faith, as a farmer separates the wheat from the chaff. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back to Me, you must strengthen your brothers.

Source Notes
"behold" had been changed to "listen" (7/23/02 per STF w/Paul's approval), but restored for the sake of lip-sync (5/04 Brian Deacon redub). ("behold" is literary, but not archaic (Oxford 1996), meaning "see," and is used in Bible.) Script was modified from "Satan has desired to test all of you,/ To separate the good from the bad as a farmer separates the wheat from the chaff" to "Satan has earnestly begged God, and asked to have all of you, to sift you as wheat is sifted, trying your faith" to more closely resemble the Bible. During the Brian Deacon redub (5/04) the text was changed to "Satan has desired to test all of you, to separate you from your faith (SIL? suggestion) as a farmer separates the wheat from the chaff." This was for lip-sync and accuracy. "brethren" was changed to "brothers" during redub to modernize, although "brethren" is not archaic (Oxford).
