One day God tested Abraham to see whether he would trust him and obey his commands. He told Abraham to sacrifice his son. Abraham knew that it was through this one son of his that God had promised to give him many descendants, yet he trusted God and obeyed him. Therefore, he prepared to kill his son as a sacrifice to God.
