Q1 Narrator The life of Jesus shows that he is indeed this Savior.

Q1 Narrator On the Sabbath He went as usual to the synagogue.

Q1 Narrator [Many hundreds of years before he came,] the prophets spoke about the things the Messiah would do and the things that would happen to him.

Q1 Narrator In the Scriptures, God reveals his plan to save human beings from(1) the punishment they deserve, so that they can live forever in fellowship(2) with him.

Q1 Narrator Jesus said about his followers: "My sheep hear my voice. I know them and they follow me." The followers of Jesus meet together, they talk to him each day, they study his words in the Scriptures, they seek to follow his example, and they tell others about him. [Jesus guides them and strengthens them through the power of God's Spirit who lives in their hearts.]

Q1 Narrator Long ago God revealed to the prophets that he would send a sinless person to die in place of Adam's descendants(1), and remove their sin and shame(2). [His sacrifice would open the way for those who believe in him to live in fellowship with God [forever].]

Q1 Narrator If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart, pray this prayer right now where you are. Pray after me silently as I repeat it one phrase at a time:

Q1 Narrator God created all the different kinds of plants and animals.

Q1 Narrator They meant to throw Him over the cliff,

Q1 Narrator Now the festival of unleavened bread drew near, during which the Passover Lamb would be sacrificed.

Q1 Narrator While in the temple, Jesus saw a very poor widow offering two copper coins.

Q1 Narrator In the beginning, God created the world. He created the sky and the earth and everything in them. [When we look at all that God has made, it is amazing.]

Q1 Narrator In Jericho there was a tax collector named Zaccheus. He wanted to see Jesus so much that he climbed a tree to get above the crowd.

Q1 Narrator But they kept on shouting at the top of their voices that Jesus should be crucified.

Q1 Narrator [Father] God, you are righteous. [I thank you that you love me.] I grieve that I have disobeyed your commands and sinned [against you].

Q1 Narrator 2000 years ago a certain person lived in this world whose name was Jesus. When people saw the things that he did they asked one another, "Is he the Messiah? [Does the life [of Jesus] fulfill what the prophets said about the Messiah?"] This film shows who Jesus is, and some of the things that he said and did, as they are written in the Scriptures.

Q1 Narrator They completed their duties according to the religious law. Then, some time later, they returned to their home in Nazareth.

Q1 Narrator So God banished(1) Adam and Eve from the garden(2). [They suffered this shame because they had disobeyed God.]

Q1 Narrator They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. But when they entered, the body of the Lord Jesus was gone.

Q1 Narrator The Roman occupation in the nation was in evidence everywhere. And the people longed for the Messiah, to free them from the tyranny.

Q1 Narrator And God the Holy Spirit came down upon Jesus in bodily form like a dove.

Q1 Narrator [Abraham took his knife].

Q1 Narrator Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for only thirty pieces of silver. Jesus knew that the hour of His death for the sins of mankind was fast approaching; and He prayed.

Q1 Narrator The shepherds hurried to see the newborn Babe in a manger, and were the first to spread the Good News or "Gospel" of the Savior's birth.

Q1 Narrator One day Jesus got into a boat with His disciples and said to them, "Let us go across to the other side of the lake."

Q1 Narrator And they sailed on over to Gadara, which is across the lake from Galilee.

Q1 Narrator His death on the cross was unique. Two thousand years ago, the God of the universe sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, to be the sacrifice for the sin of all men. He died for you.

Q1 Narrator Then the devil took Him to Jerusalem and set Him on the highest point of the temple.

Q1 Narrator I am writing to you[, dear Theophilus(1),] an orderly account of the things that have taken place among us, so that you may know the absolute truth about everything.

Q1 Narrator But just as God provided a ram to die in place of Abraham's son(1), so God sent Jesus to die in place of Adam's descendants. He did this so that those who believe and put their trust in Jesus can come into the presence of God.

Q1 Narrator Now there were some shepherds in that part of the country [who were taking care of their flock at night]. Suddenly, an angel of God appeared to them and the glory of God shone about them.

Q1 Narrator When people saw Jesus they saw the nature and power of God. He healed people and forgave their sins, and He promised them a place in his eternal kingdom. Jesus sacrificed his life and suffered punishment for all human beings.

Q1 Narrator and Judas Iscariot, the one who would later betray Jesus.

Q1 Narrator In the fifteenth year of the rule of the emperor Tiberius,

Q1 Narrator The Bible says, "All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Q1 Narrator The religious council of elders met to question Jesus.

Q1 Narrator And the council of the elders met to see how they might rid themselves of Jesus.

Q1 Narrator Jesus came closer to Jerusalem. And when He saw it, He wept over it.

Q1 Narrator For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him(1) may not die(2) but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its savior.(3)

Q1 Narrator The holy temple in Jerusalem had become a marketplace rather than a place of worship.

Q1 Narrator Now that you have prayed this prayer of faith and invited Jesus Christ to come into your life, you can be sure that He came in because He promised He would if only you would ask Him.

Q1 Narrator When God provided a ram as a sacrifice(1) to die in place of Abraham's son, God showed his great love for people. He also revealed his plan to provide a final sacrifice to die in place of human beings.
